Taiwan Street Fashion Inspires World’s Best Store
Taiwanese street fashion designer Chen Shao-yen is part of a group of young designers selected by London luxury department store Selfridges to decorate their famous Oxford Street display windows. This event is the first of its kind to be held by the UK-based chain. Selfridges was rated as the world's best department store in 2010 by the International Association of Department Stores, so decorating their windows is quite a challenge for any young designer.
It is also a huge opportunity for them to sell their work and show off their latest collections The works will attract around 1 million views per week due to the prime location in the city. Chen was discovered by Selfridges through well-known fashion blogs, and his work was described as stunning and resembling art by the manager who recruited him.
