Extreme Japanese Fashion for the Daring (or the Mad!)
Japanese fashion scene is littered with some real wacky subcultures, and when it comes to extreme Japanese fashion, it is Gyaru fashion that takes the cake. Gyaru is the Japanese equivalent of 'gal', and this Japanese fashion movement peaked in 1980s. The adherents of this Japanese fashion movement are teenage girls who mask their faces with thick, multicolor makeup and color their hair in the most unhealthy, pale colors they can lay their hands on.
Gyaru fashion, and its braches like kogyaru and ganguro are an integral part of Japanese fashion in Tokyo, and the members usually apply white lipstick, wear bright colored clothes, and sometimes even fix shiny stickers to their faces! The most hip form of this Japanese fashion movement it 'yamaba' style; the members strive to look as ridiculous as possible!
